Baxi has announced it has revamped its popular 400 series combi boiler range following installer feedback, with the new version 2.1 replacing the current Baxi 400 Combi 2 range and launched on 14 October.
Made in the UK, the new Baxi 400 2.1 includes a re-instated pressure gauge visible on the exterior case, in direct response to feedback from working with the installer community since the product was first launched in 2023. The 400 comes with a 5-year warranty and will be available at the same value price as the previous version.
“By producing the 400 2.1 on-site at Baxi’s Preston factory, we can easily include the additional requirements of the British market, delivering to our customers the features they love consistently across the range,” said Baxi’s Rob Pearse, Director of Distribution Sales.
Along with the new analogue pressure gauge, several other installer benefits have been introduced in the new 400 2.1. Offering the convenience of manual LPG conversion means the 400 range allows installers to easily switch between natural gas and LPG without needing additional kits. The Baxi Easy-Flue provides easy installation from the inside of the property and including a multi-lip weather seal to protect the flue installation from any rainwater ingress.
Improvements to the new range also include a compact casing with integrated pipes behind the void for neat upward pipework, a metal (magnetic) front cover, and a pre-heated and siphonic condensate trap that helps prevent freezing during cold weather, minimising the need for emergency callouts.
“In the UK, installers told us that they valued the simple pressure gauge and have been a little disappointed that it was removed on our latest range - until now!” said Pearse. The gauge has been reinstated on the new 400 Combi 2.1, as well as on the Assure 500, 600, 800 Combi and System 2 boilers.
The new range includes a higher 36 kW model for improved flow rates of up to 15.0 litres per minute; ideal for larger homes that demand greater output. The boilers are built on the Baxi platform which standardises features across the range, with a focus on continued modernisation and efficiency. It also means that, despite the new features on the 400 2.1, installers will be familiar with the layout and overall workings of the boiler.
Coming with a 5-year parts and labour warranty, the Baxi 400 forms part of Baxi’s comprehensive product lineup, sitting alongside the 600 and 800 ranges, which offer 7 and 10-year warranties respectively.
